ASSEMBLING YOUR TEAM
Our mystery boxes are designed for 1-6 players, which means you can enjoy an immersive evening alone or plan a mystery party with your closest friends! The suggested age range for our boxes is 8-80, which means that our mysteries may just be the perfect activity to engage everyone at your next family gathering.
HOW TO PREPARE
When you receive your mystery box in the mail, it’s time to start planning your literary adventure! Open the box and read the welcome letter; it will contain a QR code and link to the accompanying website. There you will find the audio play, drink recipes, and tips to engage younger players. If you’re worried about internet connectivity, download the audio play to your device.
IT'S TIME TO PLAY!
Set the scene by brewing a cuppa, making a cocktail, perusing the newspaper, and lighting the custom candle. When you’re ready to start:
- Cue up the audio play and listen until you are prompted to pause
- Open the corresponding evidence envelope and examine the clues inside
- Jot down some notes and discuss the details with your team
- Hit “play” when you’re ready to resume the story
- After all the clues have been revealed, you’ll be prompted to solve the mystery
CHOOSE YOUR STYLE OF PLAY
Unlike escape-the-room style games, we are a story-based experience. You don’t have to solve a series of small puzzles in order to move on to the next level. Instead, the whole story is one big puzzle! Much like a mystery novel, the story and mystery will unfold around you.
Do you consider yourself an armchair detective?
Grab your case book and start taking notes. You will receive all the information at the same time that the detectives do. By listening closely and observing all the clues, you should be able to crack the case.
Are you more interested in just sitting back and immersing yourself in the world?
That’s just fine too! Light the candle, sip your drink, and let the story unfold around you. Rest assured that the detective in the story will always get to the bottom of the mystery with or without your help.
