WHO
WE ARE
Hello. We are Raven, Kerry, Jon, and Kiernan.
We make immersive literary mystery boxes.
What does that mean? Read on!
OUR VISION
for Literary Adventure Society is to create a new and exciting way for people to come together and interact with classic literature. In the age of unlimited distractions, we believe our unique blend of stories and tactile physical elements will not only engage listeners, but also foster a sense of togetherness as each new story is experienced together.
In addition to running LAS, we are also theatre actors, directors, playwrights, and producers. and we take great pride in the quality and overall direction of the audio plays. We are dedicated to creating an at-home experience with our boxes that rivals the entertainment value of a night out at the theatre, while simultaneously fostering community and connection.
OUR COMMITTMENT
All of our mysteries are developed and handcrafted in-house. This includes writing the scripts for the audio play, recording the actors, designing the clues, and packaging and mailing the boxes.
- We work with top sound designers in the field, and professional actors based in NYC, DC, and Chicago.
- We lovingly and painstakingly recreate historical documents in order for our audiences to feel like they are seeing the same piece of evidence as the detective in the story is.
- We put our scripts through extensive testing, making sure that each physical clue is perfectly integrated into the story.
- We develop and test each scent and flavor, making sure that all sensory elements have a story that supports the overall experience.
Even the curated drink recipes have been developed and tested in our own kitchens! (a thankless job, but someone had to do it…)
"The attention to detail in both the audio production and the physical components was undeniable, making us feel as though we had stepped back in time."

OUR STORY
We started making mystery boxes in 2020 when COVID-19 shut down all the theaters. Instead of our audiences coming to us, we endeavored to find a way to bring entertainment directly into people’s homes. We were tired of streaming. We were tired of zoom. We were isolated from our loved ones. We craved connection and new forms of entertainment. And thus, our first mystery boxes were born.
Now, coming out of the global pandemic, we still want those same things. We started Literary Adventure Society so that we can dedicate ourselves to creating even more detailed, more immersive, and higher quality mystery boxes than before. To start, we have brand new mysteries from our two favorite detectives, and that’s just the beginning.
